My work depicts emotional “places” loosely based upon a landscape concept. But these landscapes are not depictions of specific geographical areas - they are imaginary, intuitive, soulful expressions of emotion painted in an expressive and emotive manner.

Through intuitive mark-making and layering in paint and mixed media, I create an interplay of letting go and regaining control between instinct and analysis. My paintings are never planned. Instead, I make layer upon layer of call and response decisions until a painting starts to emerge, which resonates with me. That’s when the final simplification happens, the essence of the painting reveals itself and becomes clear.
