About
Eva Ullrich
Eva Ullrich is landscape painter whose work leans towards abstraction. Her works are bold and confident, yet they emit an almost transcendental feeling of lightness and air, conveying form through delicate edges and tone. She lives and works in the Lake District in the north of England.
She studied at the Leith School of Art in Edinburgh and received her BA (Hons) in painting and printmaking from The Glasgow School of Art where she spent time exploring the highlands and coastline of Scotland. This experience of landscape has always been a starting point for her work and she has travelled to remote locations in Arctic Norway and Iceland in search of the very particular qualities of light that occur there.
Eva regularly undertakes bespoke commissions for luxury hotels, including large scale site specific projects. In 2016 she collaborated with Tomatin Whisky distillery to create her ambitious ‘Five Virtues’ series. Her paintings can be found in private and corporate collections internationally.
She is a member of the Wilderness Art Collective and hosts artists’ residencies from her studio in the Lake District.
