Rachel Hotchkiss

London based artist, gallerist and art consultant Rachel studied fine art at Central St Martins, Edingburgh College of Art and obtained a Masters degree in Studio Art from New York University. She was a Creative Director at a photography agency before founding The Artful Project photography gallery in 2013. She also set up The Artful Collection, an art studio and consultancy creating bespoke artworks for interior designers, architects and private clients.

 She currently works from her studio in NW London. In her artworks, Rachel is specifically interested in colour and its effect on human emotion. She plays with form and texture through collage. Adding fabric, vintage photographs and mixed media into her paintings, expressing the interaction between shapes and colours, emotion and response. Her work explores human emotions, and its relationship to nature around us. Recent work explores the quiet changing patterns of the day, from dawn to dusk, looking at light and colour changes throughout the day and how this is reflected in our emotions.
